Hey guys. To make a long story short, I've been VERY busy with my new job, among other things. I haven't even turned my computer on for a week, I'm using my iPhone! Mostly I'm just checking in to say I haven't disappeared or anything, but I am extremely busy. I'm also taking a break from (new) commissions so I can focus on doing some work for a fast-approaching convention.

For the work I have outstanding, the first half will be posted hopefully by the end of the weekend, assuming I can find an hour to sit at my laptop and add the finishing touches.

Okay I'm back again. Went through a rough few days but all is well and I can return to the grind. I've got a couple of commissions I need to finish up ASAP and then I will be revamping my entire list of options/prices/etc. because I need to get my ass back in gear. Off I go!

Around, been very busy as of late but I have some new stuff to share soon! <3

I start full time training on monday that will hopefully end in a job. It is from monday to friday, so I won't have much time to be online until the weekend.

Not going higher, considering lowering the price of my regular chibis.

Sketches, charm-style, and lineless will stay the same price, but I'm thinking maybe dropping to $10 for 'full-colour'. I don't really enjoy doing complex shading anymore, and I'm working on simplifying how I do things to speed the process up a little bit, and to match my style a bit better. I'm also concerned that I'm not getting as many commissions as I possibly could be due to the higher price, but I don't necessarily want to undersell myself either, otherwise I'll get frustrated doing too much work for very little pay.


What do you think? Is $10 a more reasonable price? Do you have any suggestions at all for what I should be charging?

Note to current commissioners, if I do drop my prices before completing your work (not 100% sure I will be at this point) I would be happy to offer you a refund of the difference, but you'll have to request it.

I know adoptables are really hit or miss around here, they either go like crazy or not at all. I think my style is well suited for a set of adoptables, but I don't really want to spend a lot of time on them if there is no interest. SO! I'd really like to hear YOUR feedback!

I'm just trying to gauge interest here, so even if you can't afford it I'd still like to hear your thoughts :3

I'm thinking $3 a pop... Too much? Maybe $2.50 as an introductory special? I was also considering maybe doing a front AND back view of the adoptable, for $5-7. (Not as an add-on - both views will be included in the price.)

A lot of people have been asking me, I link them to my prices and never hear back from them. I rely on commissions for income at the moment, so I'm getting a bit tired of wasting my time. So here is my list for anybody who was thinking of asking, and YES I AM OPEN! Sorry if this sounds bitchy but I'm getting really tired of "I want to commission you! How much would ___ be?" and then just bailing. I'm sorry if you don't like my prices but I charge what I think is fair for the work I put in (and sometimes I put in way more work than it's worth.)

My laptop decided to reboot itself while I took a trip to the washroom... Erasing all the work I had just done. SO FRUSTRATING :(

Thank you to everyone who responded to my last journal, the response was overwhelming! If I didn't choose your character this time around, I'll probably do more freebies in the future so keep your eyes open!

So, I'm trying to keep my gallery anthro-specific... Wondering if uploading humans or fanart to my scraps is bothering anyone? I'm posting on Tumblr/Facebook as well, but the majority of my following appears to be on this website soooo I dunno.

In other news, I will be attending a convention in November and I could really use some ideas or suggestions for fanart (or original art!) I could do. Anyone?

To reward you for reading this far, I want to do a quick free art to try and normalize my style a bit, and practice some situational drawing. Here is what you need to comment to qualify:

1. Visual references of your character. You can post refs for as many characters as you like, but I will not be doing any couple or group pics.

2. What you would like your character to be doing. Sitting in a tree, frolicking on a beach, eating a cupcake, etc. This is important, because THIS is what I want to be practicing.

I will be choosing the characters I want to draw, please don't be offended if I don't choose yours. This will be done on my time, commissions take priority. I will do as many or as few as I feel like. Tell your friends! :3

I've had quite a few people watch me over the last few days - this is a big thank you to all of those people! Been busy these last few days, had a few interviews but no offers just yet, another promising one tomorrow morning. Luckily that big cheque I mentioned in an earlier journal did come in so our living expenses are covered for a few more weeks - phew.

I'd like to start with a big THANK YOU to those people who have helped me out by commissioning me. You've been a tremendous help, and husband and I are very grateful. I have taken on quite a workload, and so I am going to be temporarily closing commissions until I have worked through a few of them. If you are still interested in commissioning me, I can add you to a waitlist - that way I will know what you want, but I will not request or accept payment until I am ready to start working on your commission. It would be unfair!

So, I am going to be home all day today, and figured I might throw on a Livestream. I cannot guarantee that I will be working on drawings 100% of the time, but I will be working on some digital commissions over the course of the day, between meals and such. So the journal pretty much says it all...I started an awesome new job a couple of months ago. Today they decided not to keep me on past the 3 month probationary period. I'm really not the kind of person that will ask for help unless I really, really need it...this is one of those times.

I am now unemployed. My husband is unemployed. Our apartment costs $975 a month, and between the two of us we have around $150. Our credit cards are maxed from previous financial "situations" that I can't even begin to start on now.

Now for the semi-good news: I am supposed to be receiving an $1800 cheque from my old job because I cashed out my RRSP. The problem is, it's not here yet and I don't expect it to be for a few more weeks.

I desperately need to raise some money to help with the cost of rent, bills, and gas money to attend husband's sister's wedding this weekend. After which I will no longer be driving because I can't afford to put gas in the car, pay parking, or have it repaired (it's a 16 year old vehicle that I was lucky enough to drive for a few months before it dies). The crappy thing is a bus pass costs more per month than my car and it's not nearly as convenient :(
