How To Give Fish All Your Money
General | Posted 7 years agoBecause I'm sure everyone wants to know how... :P I mean, I have had a couple of queries about it... Literally a couple... so far this year... XD
Do you like my art style enough to want to commission me? Well, there are a few options!
For three Ko-Fi (ko-fi.com/tehfeeesh), $9 USD, you can YCH any sketch you see in my gallery, or on my Twitter feed (twitter.com/ursonadk).
For $5 USD a month on Patreon (www.patreon.com/Tehfeeesh) you can do the same thing - it's cheaper if you do it every month, y'see. There's also a $20 USD tier which will give you a weekly one hour (you can save em up) session in Drawpile or via a Picarto stream where I'll do anything from draw with you, to offer advice on art, through to drawing stuff for you. That tier also gives you two YCH options a month.
For a straight up commission, I charge $40 USD per character. No backgrounds, no extra charges for fancy character designs. Turnaround on these is two weeks, you'll get test sketches and pose ideas for the first week, minimum of four sketches. After that you can choose the sketch you want to have coloured, and that will be delivered by the end of the second week. The only refunds I offer on commission are where I fail to meet the deadline - this deadline will be communicated to you at the start of the commission process, and will be specifically noted on the Paypal invoice. You will not be stuck waiting and out of pocket for six months when you commission me.

Returning Fish
General | Posted 9 years agoFinally got round to returning here after that whole hacking thing. The only account I had that shared a password with this one was my Origin account, which someone apparently played Garden Warfare on till they got banned for constantly dropping out of games (because I kept logging back in and kicking them off). Since all I ever do on that is redeem the free games, I wasn't overly concerned about it all. The email address for this account is, as per my usual practice, specifically for this site, and it's now one of three email addresses that have been compromised in over a decade - the other two are my Patreon email, and the email I used to create an account for UnrealTournament.
Time to start uploading! :3

Artistic Ramblings
General | Posted 10 years agoI never did get round to spellchecking that last journal entry... <.< >.>
Beyond a month of vaguely industrious me in the middle of the year I'm still not sketching anywhere near as much as I want to (and need to if I want to improve!). Beyond that, I'm beginning to grow cautiously proud of my art-type abilities. So long as I don't go looking at some of the awesome stuff out there and go feeling all amateur hour again. XD
Trying to actively learn new techniques, and merge them into my own style. So far this year I've managed to get a rough system for facial features that works for me, and I've started moving from a watercolour brush single-layer colouring to a flat colour and 'shading' multiple layer system. Finally figured out that a blue (or any other light colour really, but blue is pretty) ink for original sketches means I can see what I'm doing when it comes to doing line art (something I've not really done before). I still have a tendency towards multiple sketchy lines, but aiming for a more disciplined (for lack of a better word) line drawing technique can only end well.
Plugging the laptop I do my art on into the plasma TV has really helped with colouring. The colour vibrancy and elimination of viewing angles, plus the fact it's a 52" screen, really helps. And the vibrancy makes me WANT to add colour, cause I'm a sucker for pretty! :D
The main areas of improvement I'd like to look into for the next year are:
- Sketching for at least half an hour every day, preferably longer, and taking a sketch through to the coloured stage.
- Using a larger canvas, and sketching zoomed out so I can zoom in for details.
- Shifting my art onto one of the other computers to take advantage of the 1920x1080 resolution instead of the 1440x900 of the laptop (piped onto a 720p TV).
- Maybe upgrading to a new art application? I use openCanvas 1.1b72, and since I don't draw with anyone now I really should be looking into something a bit newer.
- Stop posting art in the middle of the quietest part of the day/night! While I'm not overly bothered with tracking views, and keep my total pageviews hidden for just that reason, I have to admit to feeling a little sad to see a piece of art get a grand total of 1 view. Primarily posting unfinished sketches very likely has a LOT to do with this as well, see first item in this list! XD
All that said, I'm still going to concentrate on my number one reason for drawing - TO HAVE FUN! :D

Aha!
General | Posted 11 years agoFound how to write one of these things! A fairly arduous process on a phone screen...
I am a fish. That's about it really. :3
I sketch using an old vrrsion of openCanvss, 1.1b72 to be precise. The last version that let you draw together that I sm aware of. All my drawing sessions are saved as eventfiles if anyonewants to watch them.
Must remembrr to spellcheck this thing when I grt home. Impossible to edit it anf my fat fingers are making a hilarious hash of things. :-P
