I want to be a bat,
To feel the night’s breeze caress my form
As I stop to alight on a mirror’s surface.
The moon in her brightness:
Rippling, splitting from stillness torn
In a puddle caressed by wings with purpose
Gentle, wayfarer’s soul.
Were I to join you, my humanity shorn
I’d be free of doubts and doubtless reborn.
