Whoop everyone,

Going straight into the topic, I'm writting this journal to better set in stone my current situation and future objective.

I started making art quite some years ago, started by doing 2D art. It worked not too bad but Covid made all my commission being cancelled, and french administration thought my freelance company was a fake one to get the financial help..

So after a year or two getting back into working in a boring brainless factory, I wanted to get back into art as I love doing this too much. But This time I launched myself into 3D. It works not too bad, seems like people genuinely enjoy my art as it becomes better and better. Which is making me happy and proud!

I hyped myself about that, and started working on many ideas (Cheap re-usable commissions, Varek's journey (the animated show), then reduced it to a Visual novel, And finally stepping toward VRChat content).

But, something very annoying came to greatly slow me down, if not stopping me: 6 months ago from when I'm writting this, I started to have serious pain in my fingers (not my wrist, this is not the classic tendinitis alot of nerds can get).
It was first diagnosticated as a tendinitis so I treated it like it was one, was forced to stop using my computer for like 2/3 months. The pain did goes off so I started working again, this time using ergonomic keyboard/mouse. But Here it comes again despite everything (that's why I'm silent since 2 weeks)..
Had an MRI scan few days ago and still waiting for result as my doc is not sure what the fuck is happening.

Now meanwhile I'm too afraid of working as hard as usual on my current projects and commissions, and waiting for medical answer, I was thinking it was time to be realistic and think smart:

I fucking love making art. 'Been switching between factory jobs and my art for many years and can only do it full time since 2 years. (thanks to a great friend that is hosting me for free yet)
So I really don't imagine myself going backward.

But with my medical condition, I might be forced to greately reduce the amount of work I inflict myself and only focus on the stuff that might allow me to at least not be my friend's financial parasite anymore x)

That said, I might have to abandon (or at least put aside) "Varek's Journey", and only focus on commissions and my VRChat avatar shop.
Maybe I could create some random art I was planning for my game, using my different OCs and universe settings. I dunno I will see.

Now why telling y'all this? Because I'd be curious to know what are your thought on this. Am I taking the right decision? Should I keep all projects on but just going slower? Should I only focus on commi? or on VRc?
Should I just stop everything just making personal art and focusing my patreon on those? Let me know !
