I know I'm opening up a HUGE... YUGE?... can of worms here but, lemme be frank for a moment. Recently it has come to my attention that some peer's styling seems too be inspired by a lot of Gaijin artists like say, Chris Hart or Katy Coope, and this prompted me to look into Katy thinking it was as good or better than Christopher's books.

Now all I can say is... Ummmmmmmmmmm!

Look I'm not throwing shade on either Chris or Katy but... trying to hock a book at young aspiring artist when Western styling is NOTHING close to Eastern styles is like dressing a Pontiac Fiero in a Ferrari 308 body kit and calling it genuine. *BTW this was indeed done by GM themselves and Ferrari got wicked MAD about GM's kit cars!*

Anyway I got a real laugh looking up Katy's books and while I don't wanna throw shade... Those books are IMO not as helpful as they could be... Again these books were geared to pluck a few bucks from the tree, with the intent of helping other learn how to manga, but as that old saying goes "Your mileage may vary"
There were too many forums and reddit posts on this subject to link here but lemme just say, there's a lot of MIXED reviews regarding either Chris or Katy. ALL humorous when taken from a certain point of view.

How can I frame this for better understanding? Say making a book on how to Western Cartooning say, Donald Duck but using Howard The Duck as your template. xD
