Here's a peek at one of the comics I'll be doing on an ongoing basis, at least for the next little while. This will be for
LaurenRivers, and is a fantasy/ sci-fi themed story. These are some quick character design sketches, and a good example of what you can expect in a "colored sketch" commission :3

*embarrassed grin* Actually, the original character reference had cropped ears *and* a docked tail, but this is something I feel rather strongly about IRL, so whenever there's ambiguity in dog character designs I try to take advantage of it. Besides, I really can't fathom a species of anthropomorphic dogs *willingly* cutting off their own tails. Ear-cropping, sure, humans have done some weird stuff for fashion after all... but tails? No way XP
You know, I noticed that, and I actually elected not to mind, because for one thing, I never quite agreed with the logic of why it was done (to make their jobs as hunting dogs easier) as well as feeling terrible for the poor puppies and it being a 'breed standard' to my awareness for showing them, though I could be wrong on that.
I always liked the look of the docked tail, but not the reason for it's existence. I like the way she looks both ways, so you know I'm flexible in this particular case. :)
Now if only someone could explain Gary Busey.

*hugs* Thanks for being so flexible and accomodating! ^.^ I assumed you'd ask if you wanted me to change it, hehe. Yeah, I've never really understood the tail-docking thing either. The ear-cropping, well, I can't deny that dobies *do* look a lot fiercer with cropped ears - having seen lots of casual photos of pet dobies online, it's amazing the difference it makes to how I perceive the dog's attitude. When they have floppy ears, they suddenly just look permanently nervous and confused (which, from the few dobies I've known, seems to be a pretty accurate assessment of their temperament, hehe XP)
OMFG your color sketches are amazeballs! I didn't even recognize them as your style at first. Love to get one of these, but probably way out of my price range with your skills. Just for lulz though, what would you charge for them?
Love how you handled these characters though. Deer, dobies, and hawse, three of my fav species right there. <3

Hehe thank you! Here's my price chart, and if you're interested, I'll be opening up slots this Friday - more info here.
