Epic Five Year Post of Maximum Relaxation (and Carnage)
January 16th. FA turns five.
It's been five years since alkora first started Fur Affinity. A lot can happen in five years, and we've come a long, LONG way. Over 360,000 users. Almost 3.3 million images have been submit to the site. Untold terabytes of data transferred. It's amazing.
In that time, we've gone from one server and soon to be... seven. We've got almost 128GB of RAM fueling our boxes, and enough storage space to make even the most die hard nerds feel envy. We've lost five hard drives, one motherboard, one RAID card and a few sticks of ram along the way, but it's been worth it. We've survived two ninja assassin attacks and a kamizake blimp that zeroed out in our the ol' FA HQ with intent to kill (we're happy to say the blimpy harmlessly bounced off our building).
Five years is a long time. In dog years, that's... uhm... well, I don't know how to count that high, but it's HUGE. At least 42 years worth of huge compressed down into an itty bitty single serving morsel.
We're happy to have been here during that time, and we appreciate all of those who've stuck out the good times and the bad, and to those whose F5 keys are mere speckles of plastic dust scattered into the wind.

if it wasnt for the furry fandom and FA i wud porobobly still be a total video game addict... but becus of them i stopped playing as much and became a more social person. I also made a ton of friends here on FA as well :)
and seeing as its the new year i guess my resolution wud be to submit more since i havnt submitted much recently ^^'

Good lord. Now you make me want to go and grow to the size of Godzilla just so I can rampage around town with something to drink.... *gets a coke*.... at least I got the drink part out of the way.
Still, glad you've been around for 5 years, you've helped me overcome my problem of lying to myself about who I am. You've all helped me express myself and be more of who I really am. Without FA, I would not have near as much support for my drawings, nor the courage to say that I'm a furry to people around me.
So, here's to another 5 years (and hopefully many, many more) of FA, and another 5 years of awesome submissions from furries and what-not all around the world. Here's to another 5 years of music and poetry and stories that some people would not dare share with anyone else.
And a special thanks to all those who have helped me get going here on FA.
