Walking around with her paws in shallow water, breathing in fresh air, and feeling the warm sun on her fur gave Marcy one of those rare moments when she could allow herself to simply let go of everything and get lost in her own thoughts. Nothing else particularly mattered as she enjoyed her day, for once she could just... be. And it felt amazing.

She didn't know whether it was only 15 minutes or whether entire hours have passed before something suddenly brought her back to reality. Surprised, and even confused, she stopped and looked around her noting how quiet everything still was and there seemed to be no sign of anyone else. She was almost ready to write it off as her imagination when she saw a small group of children approaching the pond, talking and laughing between each other. Their eyes met and the children stopped abruptly, eyeing her cautiously from afar. She smiled and splashed some water around, silently inviting them in. It wasn't her pond after all and while she wasn't exactly looking for company... the day was beautiful and the water felt great, and she was actually strangely looking forward to seeing them happy as well. It'd be a wonderful world if everyone was happy, she thought to herself smiling and watching the group come closer.

It didn't take long for all of them to stop being cautious and become friends, without talking or exchanging names, just... running around the pond splashing water and playing together. It warmed her heart and made her cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much, and when she had to go back home she was almost sad to have to leave. Waving her goodbyes she promised herself to do this more often.
