Name: Enferus
Other Names: The God of Death, the Ruler of Underworld, the Gentle Darkness, the Lord of Eternal Rest, Enfy (by Yulelin).
Species: Elder God
Height: 5,57 feet or 1,70 meters
Personality: True to his namesake, the God of Death acts, mostly, as a walking corpse: apathic, too much quiet, and pretty much closed within his own mind, Enferus isn't the type of person who likes to socialize, in pure contrast to the energic attitude of his opposite: Yulelin, the God of Life.
Not that this behavior means he doesn't like people, all the opposite, but well, interacting with the dead most of the time can surely make you quite the introvert. The Ruler of Underworld is extremely devoted to his task, taking very seriously his work of ferryman for the souls of the deceased: he knows how much any life is important, how much one's existence weights in the balance of the world, and so he strives to give a proper rest to who met their end, giving them a way to be finally free from any burden in the afterlife.
He loves mortals, he cares way too much for them, not wanting them to suffer when they finally face himself, and all of this thanks to a mortal in particular, who was able to make Enferus' heart beat once again with the spark of love: his partner and Guardian, Faninn, fairy queen of the greatest city of Fae's Woodlands.
He loves her, reciprocated, with all of himself, and thanks to her he was able to see the beauty of life, wanting for the dead to share such a good feeling even in death.
Exactly because of that, there's only one single category of people he actually hates, between mortals: necromancers. The Gentle Darkness sees them as cruel persons, dragging away the dead from their eternal rest only to do their bidding, and that, seeing how much he cares for his duty, is something that infuriates the deity. Even if with his forgiveness for the crimes mortals did in life, he cannot deny the sins of necromancers, them being the only ones he doesn't give a chance for redemption in the afterlife, and that instead he puts into trial, to decree if they're worthy of salvation or of eternal damnation in the afterlife.
Abilities: Following his role as the God of Death, Enferus is who guides the souls into the afterlife. Able to put an end to the existence of mortals, being the one who decrees the death of any living being, the Ruler of Underworld is who decides if someone will go into Heaven, or if they will suffer the consequences of their lives in Hell... but giving the dead a choice.
The Gentle Darkness, acting as his namesake, gives to the sinners an opportunity for redemption: created by the God's tears in seeing the pain of the living, a pearly lake was born at the gates of Underworld, the Apóleia Mnímis. Whoever bathes themselves in its waters lose memory of every evil thing they ever did, cleansing their souls, while at the same time losing their identity: a way to grant salvation from eternal damnation, that sadly only few people take.
Most of the sinners, not wanting to renounce to their life and memories, prefer to suffer than to lose themselves, and so Enferus cannot do anything than accept it, new tears enlarging the borders of the lake, bigger and bigger every single day.
Key to Divine Realm: The Pýli Pros Ádis, the "Gate to the Underworld", is the key to Enferus' Divine Realm. More than any other key, given to the Guardians, this one has the actual form of a key: forged in an unknown metal, ashened by the flames of Underworld itself, this artifact gives his owner the chance to enter the world of the dead without being one of them, as long as you possess the Pýli Pros Ádis.
Its keeper, by requesting the relic's power, will manifest the literal gates to the Underworld, that will open for them only, not letting anyone else get in; once inside, the Guardian will be able to remain all the time they want, as long as they'll hold the key with themselves... otherwise a threatening clock will tick on their soul.
A living one can only remain in the realm of death for 24 hours before being added permanently to it, so if the Guardian wants to go back in the realm of the living, they mustn't lose this relic, or otherwise risk to pass away before the time they really would.
