Inktober Day 6 or something: "Chat, you seeing this?"
Something autobiographical. Did two versions and the first was unreadable.
Experimenting with ink splatter, carving friskets out of old nametags, minimal colors, and Q-tip vs. brush vs. toothpick textures.
Since my cousins were in town, we took them out to gogigui (korean at-table barbecue) - and like... I went to high school in a Korean neighborhood and hung out in these places. So my standing offer is, "if you pay for half of my meal, I'll order in Korean and explain what all the little side dishes are." It was necessary! My cousins Wim and Piet at the foreground are vegetarians and had to get bibimbap.
But I'm gonna be drooling over that seafood pancake for some time.
Not even my proudest moment - once I went over an entire menu in Korean to isolate the 5% or so of dishes that didn't have SOY in them, because my partner didn't tell me he was allergic before we sat down. It was like, chapchae and bean sprouts and like five other things, but I could do it.
