So my final last semester for 2D turned into this. My instructor and classmates loved my small experiments with ink splatter and koi that they pushed me to make something bigger. This is a panel made of 4 illustration boards glued to a double cardboard backing. This thing is pretty massive IMO, I can barely peek over the top of it when I stand behind it lol (and I'm 5'6")

This took a pretty darn long time to do. Not only did I have to put it together and wait for everything to settle and dry- but I had to splatter the inks (in different washes) and then ink in all these fish. There are 7 fish total in the piece, I intended it to be more, but didn't want to over-crowd it- so I opted to make bigger fish as I went from bottom to top. 2 of the fish that are laying on top of the inks were painted in using white acrylic- and then inked back over with my orange inks to add color and variety.

I really liked this project, even though it took a long time to complete. But I'm proud of how it came out. I like laying some of the fish over top of the inks- they really pop out!

I just wish I could have gotten a better picture of this x_X But with its size and only using a phone this was difficult lol.
