Hello, Tom,
Here are a couple pictures of said Sunburst, with letters. If it looks anything like this, (and it does - RR - Tom) it would be Prieur. If it's RP stands for Regis Pabiou, who took over Prieur in 1957. Also, a sun(burst) is used by Rochetin, but he puts the blade grade inside the sun and otherwise makes a mess of the stamp.

One a previous owner had sharpened the tip on. Very sharp at that. Vixyyfox used to Fence and coach that sport. We've been trying to figure out the maker mark on the blade. Not a bad find for $10 US at the local second hand market / flea market. I find all sorts of blades there, even an Austrian Glock combat knife, my Japanese war trophy Wakazashi and some lesser things and the big Khukri.
Start of spring and we're still getting rain and snow. Been sunny the last few days but getting nasty again by sunday. Want to try out a couple of rifles but bad weather and illness screws that up. One is an old US rifle from 1943 - made by Smith Corona - the type writer company. - US 1903A3 Rifle - our version of a Mauser. .30/06 caliber 7.62x63mm The other is a 1948 vintage hunting rifle I picked up cheap. want to test fire both.
