Whew, now this was a challenge. I've drawn a lot of pictures over the last decade or so, but I've never tried drawing something that isn't in my style! Anyway, there's a bit of a Pony resurgence going on at the moment and I thought I'd check out the cartoon to see what the fuss is about. Turns out it's a fun cartoon. The characters are all really likeable, and the art / animation style is very nice. So I figured I'd give it a go for myself.
So! For those of you not in the know (which at this point I assume is very few of you), this is the main cast from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. With a few of the side characters for good measure.
All in all though, this was a really fun picture to work on. I didn't get bored of it at all. The style's really nice to work with. I hope to try deviating from my normal style a little more in the future actually. But don't worry, there'll be plenty of the usual stuff too.

Thanks. Yeah I realised the eyelashes are a bit of a giveaway. I was actually trying to mimic those too, but this is about as close as I managed to get.
But you're right about mimicing the style being quite a challenge! When I first started off trying to work out the proportions, I was just trying to mimic screen shots of the show. (This picture here isn't, they're all drawn properly). Anyway I'd bring up a reference on one screen and try to draw that exact same thing on the other. And I'd draw the torso too long, so I'd shorten it dramatically.. then shorten it again for good luck. Then I'd bring the original picture over to see how close I was, and the body'd still be twice too long. The style's really insane. But that's why I drew so many sketches trying to work out the style before attempting this!

That's Spike. He's Twilight Sparkle's friend / assistant / whatever. http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Spike can describe it better than me though.
Haha, thanks! It's the eyelashes that let it down. I have trouble drawing eyelashes like they do for the show.
And no symbols unfortunately! I actually drew this in Adobe Photoshop using just the regular brushes. Just at an even higher resolution than I normally draw at!

The expression on fluttershy is just awesome XP !! I like how this picture is drawn a lot :D ! Im a "Brony" myself so I wanted to show my thanks for drawing this picture. Lots of cool and well done colorings on the background! Accurate drawings of all the ponies, well done :D !!
